Snipe National Championship - June
26 & 27, 2004
A fleet of eight boats, two days of sun and nice easterly winds made the 2004 edition of
the Snipe National Championship a very interesting event. The two usual suspects, Robert Dunkley and Jimmie Lowe, associate
with Kai Chaplin and Ted O'Brien respectively are finishing first and second but a couple
of other emerging teams gave these two veteran sailors a hard time during the six races of
this weekend.
Dwayne Wallas and Jason Robertson on one side, John Watson Galloway and Alyson Myers on
the other are both going very fast and it was a matter of seconds between these four
competitors on the finishing lines. This is promising for the rest of the season and
for the future of the Bahamas in the sport of sailing.
