2005 SNIPE NATIONAL
CHAMPIONSHIPS
Our Snipe National Championships this year was held on June
25 and 26. Seven boats competed in typical summer weather
conditions - a gentle 4 - 8 knot breeze generally out of the southeast
with 20 degree shifts. The last race was started with a brief squall
coming over the course. With this, winds increased for a short while to 18
knots which by the end of the race was back to 8 knots.
Jimmy Lowe with Peter Charment
dominated with four firsts and a second. They sailed an excellent series.
Robert Dunkley with Kai Chaplin were second overall and John Watson
Galloway with Alyson Myers were third
We thank Percy Knowles and Mark Dunkley for running the
races as well as Fay Regan affectionately known as Florida Fay, who assisted on
the first day.
Results were: (6 races / 1 drop)
